Meet The Team

Shelly is a retired attorney and longtime animal advocate who founded Cats of Safety Harbor after discovering a large group of outdoor cats behind the old post office. She began feeding and caring for them, learned TNVR on her own, and spent years trapping, fixing, and supporting colonies throughout Safety Harbor and Clearwater.

 

Her dedication has led to more than 1,100 cats fixed, hundreds of kittens adopted, and a dramatic reduction in local litters. Shelly built the organization through grassroots care, volunteer recruitment, and community education, and she continues to guide its mission with deep compassion and hands on experience.

Tim is an Air Force Veteran and technology leader with a career grounded in people, partnerships, and strengthening communities at the local level. He became involved with Cats of Safety Harbor in 2022 as a volunteer feeder, driven by a desire to make a direct impact and address the growing need for humane TNVR and rescue in Florida.

 

His work is shaped by experience in strategic partnerships and by involvement in local and national industry groups such as the National Apartment Association (NAA), the Bay Area Apartment Association (BAAA), and the Real Estate Technology Transformation Center (RETTC). Tim focuses on building systems, relationships, and long term strategies that support ethical care, effective colony management, and healthier neighborhoods.

 

He brings a mission driven mindset and a commitment to both people and animals in everything he does.

Dave is a co founder and board member of Cats of Safety Harbor who has been involved since the earliest days of the organization. When Shelly first began caring for the community cats behind the old post office, he stepped in to support her work and helped strengthen the foundation that would become Cats of Safety Harbor. Dave played a key role in formalizing the organization and guiding the early development of its programs.

 

Today he continues to support the mission through board leadership, hands on assistance, and steady involvement across the community. His commitment and reliability have been essential to the organization’s growth and ongoing success.
